Open Enrollment for 2010 Health Care Benefits

Open enrollment for NKU employee health care benefits for the 2010 calendar year began on Monday, October 19 and runs through Saturday, October 31.

During that 14-day period, every NKU employee must enroll for medical, dental and  vision coverage, flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts. Your current election in those benefits WILL NOT roll over to 2010.

A cost comparison for the medical, dental and vision coverage options available to NKU employees is provided in the 2010 Employee Benefit Contribution Chart. The chart includes information on copays, coinsurance amounts, payroll costs, deductibles and many other important variables that are all part of your decision on health care.

To help you make a decision during open enrollment, here are three steps you can take:

  • Print a summary of your current benefit elections by going to http://myNKU.nku.edu and accessing your account by entering your NKU user name and password. After you are signed on,  click on the following links in this sequence -- (1) Employee Self Service, (2) Benefits and Payments, (3) Participation Overview.

  • If you have other coverage available through a spouse's benefits, get a description of the coverage and costs.

  • Collect your Explanation of Benefits forms from Humana, Delta Dental and Vision Service Plan showing what you paid for medical, dental and vision expenses for this year.

More information for each plan is available in the Human Resources Department or by clicking on one of the following links:
